Transport for London (Northern Line Extension) approached Ellis for cable hangers for a rail project, based on our standard cable hanger.
Unique requirement: Non-standard mounting on a rail tunnel lining.
COVID restrictions meant our usual site visit inspection was not possible.
The customer provided photos and measurements.
Ellis developed a tailored product, taking into consideration all possible unknown factors.
Ellis employed 3D CAD design for product creation.
Strength verified via FEA and hand calculations.
Manufacturing drawings were released to Ellis’s production team.
Prototypes were quickly produced using a plasma cutter.
Prototypes were tested in Ellis’s on-site facility for strength validation.
