Situation

• Balfour Beatty subcontracted ISS Labour Ltd to replace the troughing route on the Summit Tunnel in Todmorden, Yorkshire with cable hangers.
• The cable hangers needed to be fitted to the tunnel wall at 1m intervals with the bottom bracket installed at rail height.

Solution

• Pegasus Cable Hangers were chosen because they offered a high quality, non-corrosive, lightweight & modular solution.
• The modular 4 way hanger offered a combination of 100mm hooks and a control style bottom hook which matched the project requirements perfectly.
• 1200 units were supplied within a limited timeframe to suit the track access timetable.
