Requirement

• Woodsmith Mine required a cleat solution for existing brackets in a vertical access tunnel to a mine shaft.
• Needed to accommodate various cable types.
• Brackets already installed in the shaft, requiring the solution to interface seamlessly with them.

 

Solution

• Testing and Experimentation: Ellis received cable and bracket samples and conducted experiments in their in-house test facility.
• Development and Design: Created new designs based on test results and produced manufacturing drawings.
• The material and size validation was supported by hand and FEA calculations.
• Two solutions were provided, one using an existing design and one an entirely new solution. Both designs were required and the products produced by Ellis.
• Drawings were supplied including part numbers for project documentation pack.
