Situation

• Ellis were contacted by Woodsmith Mine in North Yorkshire.
• Asked to provide a solution to transporting power cables around the site.
• Challenge: High volume of parts needed in a short time.

Solution

• Ellis offers standard cable hangers, but a custom design was needed.
• Utilised 3D CAD to develop a bespoke solution.
• Design validated through hand calculations and FEA.
• Manufacturing drawings generated.
• Hangers manufactured by Ellis.
• Hangers, posts, and support rails delivered to customer’s site for self-installation.
