Can you remember the brand name of the last boiler you bought? How about your drill? Or even the grout you might have used in that last big bathroom project? Of course you can remember, because not all boilers (or drills or grouts) are created equal. But what about the pipe clips you use? That might be a bit tougher to answer. After all, even the MD of pipe clip manufacturer Ellis Patents agrees that this product isn’t a sexy one: “It’s a commodity about as interesting as elastic bands or drinking straws. The average plumber has no idea what brand he uses or what it costs,” says Richard Shaw...

 PRESS RELEASEEllis is offering a range of brand your own pipe fixing accessories that allow plumber’s merchants across the UK to sell own brand products that feature their logo, name and contact details on the bag.
Available free of charge on orders with a total value of £300 or more, all of Ellis’ standard pipe fixing accessories will be sold with the option of being bagged in ‘own brand’ packs.
Managing director, Richard Shaw said: “As the pipe fixing market is not brand driven it means that the opportunity exists for merchants and other trade counter operators to successfully sell self-branded products.”
“When you consider the effect having your logo, name and contact details in front of plumbers day after day will have on repeat business, I’m sure it’ll prove to be a huge success.”
In order to receive brand your own bags, customers need to supply an electronic version of their logo, contact details and any other information they wish to be included on the pack.
Ellis’ standard range of pipe fixing accessories includes snap-in open pipe clips, hinged pipe clips, pipe clip spacers, double swivel clips, heavy duty pipe clips, side entry pipe clips, nail clips and pipe covers, brackets and collars.

 PRESS RELEASEWe’ve once again demonstrated our innovative approach to product development by creating a brand new product range on the basis of customer feedback.
The new ‘nesting’ nail clips were developed when a key customer indicated that they’d like to install pipes closer together, particularly where cut-outs in timber were required. Within a week, our in house product development team had identified the solution, created a prototype and put the new product into production.
Managing director, Richard Shaw said: “The customer was absolutely bowled over by the speed of our response to their query, especially when we were able to deliver the new product range within six weeks.”
This fast-moving product development process saw the Ellis team put its existing nail clip under the microscope and review every aspect of it.
Andrew Booth, our engineering development manager, said: “What we needed to do was design a clip, which allowed minimum pipe centre-to-centre distance without compromising on strength or quality. As a result we introduced a nesting groove, which allows the installer to take maximum advantage of the space available.”
The resultant nesting nail clips are now available in our full range of sizes, 15, 22 and 28mm. And although they use less plastic, the carefully engineered design means they have a much better pull out strength than conventional nail clips, and are made entirely in Britain.
“This kind of quick thinking attitude towards new product development is one of our key selling points and, when you consider the speed of turnaround we are able to achieve between concept and delivery, it’s easy to see why so many of our customers want to work with us time and time again,” added Richard Shaw.
