Now semi-retired, Chris has a First Class Honours Degree in Mechanical Engineering and combines a passion for new product development with his duties as Chairman.
Richard Shaw
Managing Director
Joined Ellis Patents in January 2001.
Richard has a First Class Honours Degree in Production Engineering and during his career, has held board positions in both production and sales roles. He has significant export sales experience in most parts of the world. General management experience has been gained in a variety of industries in the UK, and overseas.
Diane Holmes
Company Secretary
Joined Ellis Patents in March 1994
Diane became Company Secretary in September 2002 and has a pivotal role in all areas of administration and accounting. She is also responsible for the purchase of key raw materials.
John Yard
Finance Manager
Joined Ellis Patents in January 2010
John is a Chartered Accountant and has held various financial manager/director positions during his career. He is responsible for preparing the monthly management accounts and the year end statements. He is also responsible for the accounting/production management software.
Danny Macfarlane
Operations Manager

Danny has a First Class Honours Degree in Chemical Processing and Materials Engineering and a Certificate in Management. Having previously worked in plastic injection moulding manufacturing he joined Ellis Patents as Technical Manager but is now responsible for all of the company’s manufacturing operations.
Andrew Booth
Development Manager
Joined Ellis Patents in August 2000
Andrew is a member of the Institute of Engineering Technology and a Chartered Engineer. He originally completed an apprenticeship as a Structural Engineer & Draughtsman but subsequently continued his studies and achieved a Masters Degree in Business Change. Responsible for managing the engineering design function of the business he has more experience of short-circuit testing cable cleats than anyone in the world. He represents the Company within CIGRE and is heavily involved in Standards work. As well as his other functions, he provides technical support to the sales team.

Tony Conroy
Export Sales Manager
Joined Ellis Patents in June 2001
Tony has a 2:1 Honours degree in French and Business Studies and a French Chamber of Commerce and Industry Certificat Pratique. He has a background in export sales and is responsible for all Ellis overseas markets. He travels extensively to most corners of the globe. Under his management export sales have grown from a little over £200k to £2.3m.
Isabelle Nourry
Export Sales Executive
Joined Ellis Patents in October 2010.
Isabelle is French and moved to England in 2006 presumably after falling in love with our pubs, following her time working as a barmaid during her student years. She has a BA International Business from the University of Central Lancashire and a Business degree from the International School of Management IDRAC in Lyon-France. With a background in export sales Isabelle is responsible for helping to develop our export market.

Tony Richardson
Export Sales Administrator
Joined Ellis Patents in January 2006.
Tony studied an H.N.D. in Business Studies and his career in internal sales commenced at the British Steel Corporation in 1972. He has been involved in export sales for the last 25 years and is responsible for all Ellis Patents export sales order input procedure and documentation. Tony is a qualified Swimming Teacher.
